Credentials

I have been providing entertainment and coordination at wedding receptions for over 15 years as both a band leader/MC and "Live Music" DJ/MC. As an active member of both the Sacramento chapter of the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA) and the Association For Wedding Professionals International (AFWPI), I attend monthly networking meetings and seminars with other elite wedding service professionals.

My military duty stations included the Army and Navy Bands in San Francisco, San Diego and Virginia Beach, VA. During my time in the military music program, I directed bands and served as MC at over 2,000 performances, including several attended by the President of the United States. I have performed with Chuck Mangione, Johnny Mathis, The Cab Calloway Orchestra, Steve Allen, The 4-Tops, Frankie Laine, The Temptations, Don Rickles, Bobby Rydell, Lee Greenwood, Ronan Tynan, Stan Mark, Mike Vax, Connie Francis, Sister Swing, Mardis Gras Band, Mic Gillette, Vivian Lee and John Skinner. At the conclusion of a European tour with Solomon Burke, the King of Rock n' Soul, I performed with him as an opening act for the Rolling Stones on their "40 Licks" tour.

During my "Live Music" DJ performances, I perform on trumpet, trombone, flugelhorn, bass trumpet and alto sax, but I actually play 12 different brass and woodwind instruments. My local music activities include leading a 16-piece big band, brass quartet, variety horn band and I am a regular guest musician with various union bands and church orchestras.

I am also a composer and arranger of big band and brass ensemble music for several international artists and ensembles including Roger Ingram, trumpet soloist with Harry Connick, Jr., Mike Vax, former lead trumpet with Stan Kenton, Mic Gillette of Tower of Power and John Skinner's bands. One of my big band arrangements was recorded recently on a DVD honoring the late trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson.
